Plans in Action
We started shopping for Evan's birthday! It may sound silly with how much fun we have buying journals, note cards and stamps, but it really is a great feeling. We went to Michael's on Tuesday and loaded up on said items, and then hit Sam's Club to buy some food items for the waiting rooms at Children's. Some of our good friends are getting us tote bags from American Eagle again (it pays to know someone who works there!!!), and we'll slowly assemble them as we pick up more goodies. I found a great website where I can get laundry detergent (in 2 load bottles) very cheaply, so that is ordered. We still want to buy gift cards, throw pillows and a few other things, but then we'll be all set for another celebration!

We also met with one of Evan's nurses yesterday...haven't seen Melanie since before Evan died. It was great to see her and catch up on some things. She'll be helping us with the Heart Walk this year. In fact, we are already working on a spaghetti dinner benefit in September! She brainstormed a lot of good ideas for it, and we are getting very excited to throw ourselves into that once again. She also got to meet Cara which was very cool. It's really neat to introduce CareBear to someone that we wouldn't know if it weren't for Evan. Cara seemed to love her just as much as he did!

I hate to cut this short, but I have a hungry daughter and company coming to have cake for my little brother's 14th birthday! 14 years old...boy, I am really starting to feel old!

Until next time everyone! Enjoy this weather!
