Updates on the kids

Boy is it nice to have Cara home with us! We didn't take Evan home until he was almost 6 weeks old, so it's been different this time around taking care of such a young baby (even though she is a lot bigger thank Evan was at this age). Cara had some jaundice issues and we had to tie her to a bili-blanket over Memorial Day weekend which was a shame because the weather was so beautiful and we were stuck inside all weekend. But it seems to have resolved itself and she is doing well. She is a champion eater and is pretty close to 8 lbs already...our little porker! She is a joy and a very good baby with the exception of getting her nights and days mixed up every now and then.
This past weekend was very busy for us...Chris and Heather got married! The wedding ceremony was beautiful and Chris and Heather looked so happy...they are definitely meant for each other! I brought Cara with me (Greg was the best man) so much of the family could see her, and it was a bit overwhelming to be carting around a 12 day old when she wants to eat every 2 hours or so. But we made it through and I consider it a big accomplishment! I didn't have a lot of help since pretty much the entire family was involved in the wedding in some way, shape or form. And we did cut out of the reception a little early, but that was only after poor Cara threw up all over the last outfit I brought for her (I had three). I'll have to look through the pictures and videos once Chris and Heather get them back, because I never had a second to realize what was actually happening at the reception! But it was a good time and it was really nice to be able to attend.
So...today is June 1! That means Evan's 2nd birthday is only about 6 weeks away! We are still planning on taking care packages to Children's Hospital, so I guess we need to get buying!!! Since his birthday is on a Thursday this year, I think we'll go to CHP and Trinity and then invite the family to our cabin for a cookout and birthday cake. We will do our annual friends cabin party the weekend after his birthday (which will be the standard weekend from now on), so Greg and I will just stay there through Sunday or Monday. I am really looking forward to this again. I can't believe my little angel would be 2 years old. I miss him so much and love him more everyday. I know that he is happy that we continue to give back to the place that took care of him for so long. And I cannot wait to celebrate his life in such a positive way again.
And finally...the heart walk is coming soon! It will be held in Pittsburgh on October 11, and I'll be sending out invitations to join our team soon. I really want to surpass our total from last year, and I already know of a few more people who are excited to join our team and help us achieve that goal! I'll try to set up a webpage on this site too, but that will be accomplished on CareBear's schedule :-).
Hope everyone is doing well, and that you are enjoying this beautiful weather! I know I am (and those billowy, white clouds always make me think of my baby boy...love you Bubba!).
