Love that sun
There is nothing like the rays of sunshine pouring into the bedroom in the morning to get you motivated. After a very busy weekend, and the little sleep I get just from being pregnant, I thought today would be a "recovery day" and I would just take it easy. I should be taking it easy anyway, but I just want to CLEAN! Maybe this is my nesting phase kicking in before baby girl gets here.
Every one of our blinds is cleaned. The carpets have all been scrubbed. I had all of our drapes cleaned. I washed all of our bedding, all of our blankets/afghans. I need to wash the bassinet liner and crib sheets, and I am doing everything I can to hold off on doing it since my cats will just fur it all up anyway. I want everything organized! I want my deck cleaned and my car spotless! And all of these things are not typical for me. I am usually not picky about any of this stuff! I am hoping it means baby girl will be coming earlier rather than later (although she does need to bake a few more weeks).
My soon-to-be sister in law (Heather) had her bridal shower on Sunday. It was a good time, yet slightly humiliating for me! One of the games they had us play was the "make a wedding dress out of toilet paper" game. I was sitting with the mother of the bride, mother of the groom (my mother in law) and grandmother of the groom. Guess who got to be the bride? I tried to plead my case that I am pregnant and it just isn't right to be a pregnant bride, but they wouldn't budge. So there I stood being draped in toilet paper in front of 60 people I didn't know. My picture was taken entirely too many times, and I was told I should win because I looked the FUNNIEST! I didn't win. :-( It was actually quite funny and we laughed the whole time. I did make sure to tell Heather that when she has a baby shower someday, payback will be coming :-) A good time was had by all, and I am so glad that Heather will be "officially" apart of our family soon!
Well, that is about it here. I am on weekly doctors appointments now, and it's good for you to assume everything is going well unless I say otherwise. Baby girl is already bigger than Evan when he was born and I am feeling it! We joke that she is going to be the rebel (stereotypical 2nd child) and that she'll decide to come really late just because we would like to meet her sooner! Anyway, enjoy the sun and have a great week everyone!
