Updates
We had our ultrasound last week and we are still having a girl! This time the genetic counselor looked at the growth and baby girl is measuring in the 61st percentile! They estimated her at 17 inches and 4 lbs 3 oz. Just about the size Evan was when he was born, this time with about 8 weeks to go. She seems to be doing great which is a huge relief.
This past weekend we finally ventured into Evan's dresser, dividing clothes into "boy," "Evan's only," and "Baby Girl ok." There were definitely some things in there that tugged at our hearts...in fact, most of the sleepers fit into that category because they were the easiest to dress him in with feeding, oxygen and pulse-ox wires coming from him. Then there was the Jimi Hendrix sweatshirt, the blue sweater he wore in the first picture we got of him smiling, and his Christmas sweater. Those are just a few among many more. At least that project is done. We moved some of the furniture around just to make the room a little different and we are pretty much done...now we just need Evan's little sister to make it complete.
There really isn't too much else going on...we got a letter from Childen's Hospital today inviting us to a Memorial Service held for all of the children who passed away in 2007. It's at the beginning of May, and I'm sure we will go. We met a couple of families who lost their babies while we were there, so maybe we'll recognize each other and have that connection that I hope I never have with anyone else again! I have to say, the letter took me totally off-guard. I have been having an emotional few days anyway, missing my baby boy. I look forward to this little girl coming, but I miss my baby boy tons.
Well, that's about it here. Time is going to fly because we have something planned every weekend through May 3! Then baby girl will be here shortly afterward. My how time flies.
