We just bought a digital camcorder online, and we are excited to get it!  Last year for Christmas we got a portable DVD player, but we returned it to Best Buy because we already had one.  We had such a horrible experience at Best Buy that day, because we didn't go in until the end of February.  With Evan in the hospital from Dec. 7 until Feb. 10, and then his funeral and all that comes with that the week following his death, the last thing we thought of was to return the DVD player.  When we got there, they told us that we only had 2 weeks from the date of purchase (which was Dec. 1...we had the receipt), and they could not even give us a store credit.  Of course, being that we had just gone through the worst experience of our lives, we flipped out and asked for a manager.  The manager was very un-friendly, like she was on a power trip and acted like she was doing us the biggest favor in the world by giving us store credit, making it clear that we didn't deserve it since we were so far past the deadline.  Since then, we have decided to spend the money on the gift card, but to boycott the store altogether after it's spent.  And we are just now getting around to spending it.  Only a few more dollars left, and no more Best Buy for us!  It's amazing the impact one miserable person can have on a consumer.

Anyway, I wasn't expecting to go off on that tangent!  I have come to realize that there are about 7 different kinds of digital camcorders you can buy, and it can all be very confusing.  I made the decision based on customer reviews and brand names.  I bought a Sony because we have had very good experiences with them in the past.  This time I have until Jan 31 to return it, but I hope that we like it enough just to avoid the hassle we got the last time!

On a different subject, my dad had a little accident on his motorcycle last weekend.  Thankfully he is ok, but he did break his right hip and went into surgery about 7 hours after it happened.  He is at home now, unable to put any pressure on his right side for 8-12 weeks, so barely any walking and no driving.  If you don't mind, please pray for a fast recovery!  And for him to take riding lessons....:)  love you Dad!
