This past weekend we actually went on a date! We haven't had a date in so long, and it was nice to go out to a nice dinner and see a movie. When did movies get so expensive? I remember them going up to $8.00 each, but friday night it cost the 2 of us $17.50! I also remember when they cost $5.00 and matinees were $2.00! Oh well, we had a nice time, and that's what counts.
Saturday we climbed aboard the Redbank Valley School bus to go to KDKA studios and watch Greg's school participate in Home Town High Q (a high school quiz competition). It was a close game between the three schools, but we won!!! Way to go Redbank! The show will air on December 29 at 11 am on KDKA. They will be invited back later this school year, but that date is still to be determined.
When we got home, we changed and ran over to our church for it's first Saturday evening service. It's a contemporary service with praise music and technology combined with the ancient practices of the Christian faith. I had the pleasure of running the projector (which only had a couple glitches in it), and Greg did the reading. It was a service filled with prayer and music, and very enjoyable to us. I didn't realize how much I missed our praise band until now. There was a very encouraging turn out too, and I hope that continues. More about the service can be found at www.thebridgeservice.com.
Sunday we went to church again (twice in one weekend, wow!) and celebrated All Saints' Sunday. It was an emotionally tough Sunday for me, as my little boy's name was listed right at the top of the paper as one of our parish's saints who have passed on in the last year. I had to keep my composure as I was also running the projector for that service. It was hard, but I managed to get through the entire service (even if I looked like a red, puffy mess!). We relaxed the rest of the day (well, I relaxed while Greg graded papers...grades are due this week!), and wacthed football.
I guess that's about it here. (Love and miss you so much, Evan!)
