Big News

Well, it's been awhile since we've been on here to update everyone. School, soccer and work seem to be keeping us quite busy these days. But now that we finally have a moment to breathe we can tell you what's been going on.
The Heart Walk was on September 29, and our team raised just under $14,000! That is an incredible amount of money for CHD research! We are the #1 Friends & Family team in Pittsburgh, and it was noticed by those who work for the American Heart Association. The walk day itself was gorgeous...cool in the morning, warm in the afternoon, and SUNNY! We (of course) are convinced that our little angel Evan works in the weather department of heaven along with his step-great-grandfather Herbie who was ALWAYS interested in the weather. How can we not think that when everything we have planned for this year has been filled with such beautiful days?
During the Heart Walk, we also ran into many people that we were looking forward to seeing. A few nurses from Children's Hospital were there, some which we saw on Evan's birthday in July, some who we haven't seen since Evan's passing. As always, it was wonderful to see them and catch up a little bit. We saw some of the parents in our Heart Parents of Pittsburgh Group who have become great friends of ours over the last 11 months. And we talked with several people from the American Heart Association who were amazed at our fund raising abilities! Go Team!!! I know they are hoping we will make this an annual event which we definitely will. We had 21 walkers that day, and it was an amazing feeling to see so many people gathered together for a good cause. We are just so proud of our team!!!
On a different note, we can't believe it is already the end of October. Halloween is approaching, which is not a favorite holiday, but one where we remember our angel in his little pumpkin costume. He made the cutest pumpkin ever with his perfectly round head! This year he is an angel looking after all of us who love him so much. We hope that he and his heart friends are eating lots of candy in heaven!
And now, finally for the big news. Evan is going to be a big brother! He's added another family member to his list to look after and take care of! His little brother or sister is due around May 17, 2008. Of course we are thrilled about this news, as we are very excited to be active parents again. But with that brings a HUGE range of emotions, missing our angel more than ever. It's been said that losing a child will forever bring tinges of sadness to even the most joyous occassions, and we are finding that to be very true. As this baby reaches milestones, we will wonder when Evan would have reached them, and what he would look like as he got older. We're still trying to get used to this, but all the same we couldn't be happier that this little miracle is coming next year. God has blessed us tremedously.
So with all the activities this fall it has been hard to keep up the website! Now that soccer is over and the exhaustion of pregnancy is ending (hopefully soon), we should be able to update more often.
We love you all!
Greg, Amy, Evan and Baby C due May 17!
