Well, this past weekend was our annual cabin party, and what a beautiful weekend it turned out to be. We arrived friday afternoon to start our relaxation and although it rained, we got the necessities out of the way...grocery shopping and cleaning (which we didn't have to do much of). Saturday was gorgeous. In the morning, Jill and I took Joey to meet her parents and it was nice to see them (it's been a couple of years). We got back to the cabin around 11:30 and packed up food & beverages to take down to the lake. And then we spent the day doing WHATEVER WE WANTED!!! I hung Evan's cross on the pavilion and carved his name into the wood. It was a perfect spot for him to be able to watch over us while we swam and sun bathed. He is my baby angel after all! I also got the most beautiful picture of his cross with the trees in the background (see pictures page). I know Evan was with us all weekend, and I think he asked God to give us this 80 degree, no humidity, bright, sunny day! Maybe it was a birthday present for his mommy! Cathy & Rob brought ladder golf, and although I didn't play at all, it looked like those who did play enjoyed themselves. My preference was swimming in the lake and hanging out on the floating dock. The water was perfect, and besides seeing 1 snake swimming around, nothing bothered us. A few people tried out the new tire swing with only one minor injury, but that injury now seals the deal for Pat who will not ever be put on the "banned list." He passed the initiation process that none of the rest of us had to endure! We stayed at the lake all day and a good portion of the night Saturday. We sat around the fire, and Mike and Pat played their guitars while we listened and talked. It was just a beautiful weekend and was a nice thing to do after celebrating Evan's birthday on Tuesday. Today we went out to dinner for my birthday, and now we are preparing for our trip to Florida that's coming up. I sure love these beautiful days...as always, only one thing could make them better (I love you, buddy!).
