life from our perspective
Happy 4th!

Happy (almost) Fourth of July!  Things continue to be busy in our household...and Cara is growing like a weed!  Last week she had a few episodes of projectile vomiting, so we took her to the pediatrician.  The doctor thought it might be Pyloric Stenosis since it started so suddenly, so we were sent to Children's Hospital to get an ultrasound of her belly.  Cara's first trip to Children's...may it be the only one that is not for Evan's birthdays!!  Thankfully, she does not have that condition (which would require surgery to fix).  I found my breaking point in all of this...I have been so relaxed with Cara up until that point.  My mind raced all over intubations, overnight hospital stays and surgeries once again, and I lost it.  I knew I would eventually have a breaking point with this little one.  Many people assume I am worried constantly, but I am just the opposite.  I am very relaxed with her...I guess at least until she has a medical issue of any kind.  Pyloric Stenosis is immediately fixed with a "nothing" surgery, and I was a mess.  Oh well, at least I am not a mess all the time!!!  While we were at Children's we ran into Crista, another favorite nurse!  We were happy to introduce her to Cara, and she was excited to meet her!  At least that was something to smile about while we were there!

Last weekend my cousin Nate had his graduation party!  I can't believe he is off to Duquesne in the fall!  He is the first child I babysat on a regular basis, and now he is in college!  Anyway, we all headed to his house for the party and got to introduce Cara to some of her Great Aunts & Uncles as well as some of my cousins.  They had a pig roast which Greg was totally into...he loved picking the meat right off of the bone.  I had a little more trouble looking at a pig and knowing I was about to eat it!  But it was delicious!  Cara did great the whole time.  She does quite well for all of the traveling we've been doing!

Sunday we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary!  We went to the Addison House (in Leechburg) for dinner while Grandma and Grandpa babysat.  It was a very quaint place and had great food.  It was a nice date!  And once again Cara did great!  She had been refusing the bottle (we give her one bottle a day so dad can feed her), but she took it from Grandma!  I guess I just need to be out of sight!

Monday we went to Monroeville to do some shopping.  We hit Babies R Us because Cara is growing so much!!!  We needed to get some 3-6 month stuff for her.  She is still in 0-3 clothes, but is fastly approaching the bigger sizes.  While we were in Monroeville, we stopped to see Great Grandma & Great Grandpa Campbell!  We visited with them for about 3 hours, and we got the best present!  A picture of Evan we have never seen!!!  It would be the picture above.  He is so cute in it...I am just so excited about this!  So of course we copied it, scanned it, and sent the original back to the great grandparents.  They had several pictures of him up which always makes us smile!

So that takes us to this weekend...tonight we will have dinner with some friends, and tomorrow we will head to the cabin once again!  Now Cara can meet her Uncle Josh and Aunt Lauren!  Saturday we are headed to a friends party, and then next week we will spend the week putting care packages together for Evan's birthday and packing for our cabin party!!!  Busy busy busy!

We hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!

Much love from all of us!
