Thoughts...
life from our perspective
Heart Kids

Today one of our heart friends, Colton (age 1) , had a heart cath.  Not much info on how it went yet, but prayers are needed for him!  He actually had his first open-heart surgery on Evan's birthday, July 10, 2006.  I remember seeing his mom in the CICU over the summer but we never talked.  I have been talking to her quite frequently since I joined the Heart Parents of Pittsburgh group in December.  She has become a good friend.  Colton's picture is on their family website at www.babyhomepages.net/theansellfamily, and he is also on the "Faces of CHD" (that link is on the Heart Page).    He also has Tetralogy of Fallot/Pulmonary Atresia, just like Evan.

This weekend we'll be pretty busy...going to a cookout friday at Heather's house and then a visit to Heeter, Howie and Henry on Sunday.  Tomorrow night we are going out to dinner with our minister and his wife, and hopefully I'll get to meet the wonderful lady who sent me a bracelet with Evan's name on it (she was inspired by his story, I haven't met her yet).

Oh there is one more thing...you gotta love insurance companies...we got a notice in the mail (in case we switch health insurance) stating that Evan was covered from 7/2006-2/28/2007.  It's to inform other companies that his pre-existing condition was covered before, so if we switch, they will also cover him.  I feel like calling them and yelling "LOOK IN YOUR RECORDS!!!  WHY DO YOU THINK HE'S NOT COVERED ANYMORE????"  Sorry...had to get that one out.   I guess we'll probably get things like this for awhile...it's bad enough we still get Babies R Us and Gerber coupons every other day.  Oh well, such is life...
